Good Evening Troop!
Thank you so much to those parents who volunteered to camp with us! Transportation logistics will always be our limiting factor. I’d love to have 2 or 3 adults and 30 scouts load up in a Troop Bus/Van and go, but we don’t have that luxury right now. If you’re willing to help in the future, please let us know on the Camping Sign Up form when you sign up your scout for a campout. This is going to be a fun weekend 🙂
We will be able to use our Troop Canoes on the river. Scouts need to bring a bathing suit and towel. The water will still be a bit chilly, so keep that in mind.
Sleeping Arrangements – This campground has Cabins! Most of us will be in a bed, but a few might need to be on a Cot. If you have a Cot, please plan on bringing it, just in case. BRING SLEEPING BAGS! This will prevent us from doing hours of laundry on Sunday morning before we leave.
Daypacks—In addition to water time, we’re also trying to get a 5-mile hike for the first-year scouts, which will satisfy one of their requirements.
Service Project – We will have a short service project in exchange for free use of the cabins. We’ll be pushing back a forest line. Bring gloves if you have them.
Unless you have specifically been told tonight about an alternate leaving time, please be at the church at 6 p.m. Friday night. We’ll stop at gas stations on the way to camp and on the way back. Depending on clean-up tasks, we’re aiming for a 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. arrival time on Sunday.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
